Highly sensitive people

Sensitivity is the human value that makes us wake up to the true reality of others. With common sense we can face all kinds of inconveniences, with the security of doing good at the service of our neighbor. Sensitivity allows us to discover in others the «other self» that thinks, feels and requires our help. It is interest, concern, collaboration and generous dedication to others. Over sensitivity can be a burden but above all a gift.

Jung was the first psychologist who spoke of sensitivity as a trait of character and warned about the little that is valued in our society.
Sensitive people regain their energy when they discover that they can give good things and when they are appreciated for being people who know how to listen, accurate in their judgments and faithful in their feelings. Offering their knowledge and skills to others, they perform some work or hobby in which to develop their sensitive potential.

Sensitivity is a positive human feeling that must be fostered in our society, thanks to this value we can empathize with others, put ourselves in their place and be more supportive. Not only do we have sensitivity to our peers, we also have feelings of sensitivity to animals, nature, etc …
Violent video and video games reduce sensitivity to the suffering of others, the article in the journal Psychological Science details the findings of two studies led by Professor Brad Bushman of the University of Michigan. These studies clearly show that exposure to violence in the media can reduce the behavior of helping others.

The sensitive person is usually intuitive, observant and artistic. It seems that the world is of the extroverted people who seek power, fame or money. But what would we do without people aware of environmental problems?
Being sensitive means being in a state of alertness of everything that happens around us, goes beyond a state of mind like laughing or crying, feeling sorry or joy for everything. Fortunately, there are people who can work altruistically for the well-being of others. Sensitivity brings us many positive things that we should cultivate, it gives us the wisdom to be in contact with the depths of human care.

Highly sensitive people feel more strongly.
We like to process things at a deeper level. We are very intuitive, and we get to the bottom of things to get to discover everything.
We are more emotionally reactive.
The most sensitive people react more to any situation. For example, we will show more empathy and concern about a friend’s problems. We also tend to be more concerned about another person’s reaction to a negative event.
We are accustomed to hear: Why are you so sensitive?

Depending on the culture, the sensitivity can be considered as an added value or, on the contrary, something negative.
The highly sensitive people tend to avoid team sports, in which it seems that everyone is watching our movements.
Highly sensitive people are more aware of the subtleties and details that make decision making difficult. The most sensitive people tend to take longer to decide, since we weigh any possible consequences.

We feel more disappointed than others when making the wrong decision. We are very observant.
The highly sensitive people are the first to realize all the details, the changes of a person just looking into their eyes …
Highly sensitive people are even more sensitive to chaos and noise.
We are more sensitive to criticism. Highly sensitive people react to criticism more intensively.

Because of our ability to perceive nuances and subtleties that are overlooked by others, hypersensitive people often give our work and relationships a good dose of vision and humanity.
Usually we are aware, creative and meticulous, but in an aggressive culture, the values of which are the hardness, the extraversion and the repression of the most delicate emotions.
Sometimes we get so involved and so intensely grasp the meaning of what is happening around us that we need to disconnect from our environment to a greater extent than other people.

Someone knows how to listen, who takes the initiative, who is creative, who has a great internal resistance, who is faithful above all and who feels in an exceptional way …
In fact, there is a high percentage of the population affected by what happens in the world in a deeper way than the rest of the people.

You have to have the courage to be sincere, open and honest. This opens the door to being a more authentic and profound being. Speaking from the heart frees us from secrets.
